TV review issue 42

Maybe I'm nosey.  Maybe it's just the thought that other people's lives are move interesting than mine.  But I love reality tv. That's why I was glued to "Rail Cops" (BBC1, Tues 10.35pm)  Picking up suicides isn't exactly my idea of a fun day at the office, but someone's got to do it, and this is much more interesting than the bog-standard "Don't Play On The Railways" public service announcement, which is all it really was. Charley says...

So, why haven't I reviewed "Footballers Wives" (ITV, Weds 9pm) before? It could be that it's just too much of an easy target. Nah, to be honest with you, I've just not managed to sit through a whole episode without feeling the need to scrub my eyeballs.  Even now I'm not quite sure I can cope with it. There's a rash of kids being called Chardonnay thanks to this, which is pretty unforgivable as far as I'm concerned. I can just picture Posh &
Becks sat watching this on their widescreen at Beckingham Palace saying "Oh, we must have them over to our next party"  It gets more ridiculous by the minute though. Fantasy of the highest realm.Truly dire. Sorry.

"Stars In Their Eyes Special:  Legends" (ITV, Sat 9.05pm)  Davina, do you understand the meaning of the word 'overexposure'? Thought not. No comments about Matthew Kelly, they've been done to death already. But... Tony Blackburn as Cliff Richard?  Looked more like Mike Reid to me (The DJ one, not Frank Butcher). Nightmares have been made of less. (And by the way, I
wrote that bit BEFORE he said the same thing)  And I promise I won't make any jokes about Rhona Cameron & 'Friends Of Dorothy' either. In fact, the less said about this, the better.

"2002 TV Moments" (BBC1, Sat 9pm) Didn't we just have this on Channel 4 a couple of weeks ago?  Oh, sorry this one's got awards. Didn't we have that on ITV a couple of weeks ago?  Overkill City!  We know. We watched it all the first ten times.

"Living With Michael Jackson: A Tonight Special"(ITV,Mon 9pm)  Confirmed Nutter. That's all I've got to say on the matter.

This week's quiz answer...  I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat
